Upper Bokova came alive in a colourful display of tradition, authority, and celebration as HRM King Evanjoh Abel Nyoki was officially crowned and enthroned, marking the end of decades of vacancy on the throne.

The historic ceremony was not only a cultural milestone but also a strong symbol of state recognition, as government authorities were present to formally hand over the command baton to the new chief. The Divisional Officer (D.O) for Buea, Abba Abdouraman, presided over this key administrative moment, reaffirming the state’s endorsement of the new traditional leadership.

The event attracted a large gathering of traditional rulers from across Fako Division, reinforcing unity among chiefdoms and highlighting the importance of cultural continuity in the region. Chiefs, elites, and community members witnessed what many described as a “day of glory and restoration.”

Adding colour and excitement to the ceremony were vibrant cultural displays and electrifying performances from invited guest artists, blending modern entertainment with rich traditional heritage.
With his Queen, Egbe Henrietta Oneke, standing firmly by his side, King Evanjoh Abel Nyoki begins his reign with a promise of service, unity, and development.

The coronation is widely viewed as a turning point for Upper Bokova, restoring leadership, strengthening cultural identity, and opening a new chapter of hope for the people.
