CAMEROONIAN PEACEBUILDER DR. ESTHER OMAM RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION
Renowned Cameroonian peacebuilder and humanitarian Dr. Esther Omam has achieved two major international milestones within one month.
After earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Diplomacy and Conflict Management from Selinus University of Sciences and Literature, Dr. Omam was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Leadership and International Business Management by Universal Blockchain University.
The honorary degree was presented during the SDG Summit Cameroon 2026 in Douala, recognizing her nearly three decades of leadership in peacebuilding, humanitarian action, women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
Her doctoral research focused on the role of women in resolving Cameroon’s Anglophone Crisis, highlighting the importance of women’s participation in achieving lasting peace.
Speaking after receiving the award, Dr. Omam dedicated the honours to women, young people, humanitarian workers, and peacebuilders, urging African leaders to invest in people and entrepreneurship as drivers of sustainable development.
Dr. Esther Omam is the Executive Director of Reach Out Cameroon and continues to champion peace, inclusive governance, and community development both in Cameroon and internationally.
