Ahead of the highly anticipated 2025/26 Northwest Regional League Season ,the draw has finally been released, and football fans in the region are in for a treat. The draw, which took place recently, has grouped 16 teams into four pools, setting the stage for some thrilling matchups.
Group A is shaping up to be one of the most competitive pools, with Rangers FC Bafut, Simaf FA, Dream Team, Bafut United, and Vision Sports all vying for top spot.Rangers of Bafut who have been one of the top teams in the region in recent years, will be looking to assert their dominance after relegation from the elite two, but they will face stiff competition from Simaf FA and Dream Team, both of whom have been quietly building strong squads.
In Group B, Rainbow FC, Abakwa Sports, All Stars, Mankon United, and Kumbo Strikers will battle it out for supremacy. Rainbow FC, who have been inconsistent in recent seasons, will be looking to find some stability and make a push for the top spot, while Abakwa Sports Academy and All Stars will be seeking to build on their solid performances last season.
Group C is perhaps the most intriguing pool, with Option Sports, Rockland FC, Achico FA, Nkwen FC, and Family Warriors all in the mix. Option Sports, who were champions of last season and represented the region at the national Interpol will be looking forward to continue their dominance, but they will face a tough challenge from Rockland FC and Achico FA, both of whom have been making waves in recent seasons.
Finally, in Group D, Hilltop Strikers, Kilum Mountain, Donga United, Nso United, and My Soccer Center will be competing for top honors. Hilltop Strikers, have been quietly building a strong squad, are hoping to make a push for the top, while Kilum Mountain and Donga United will be seeking to build on their solid performances last season.
With the draw now out, fans can start looking forward to some exciting matchups in the Northwest Regional League. The action is set to get underway on February 9, 2025, and one thing is for sure – it’s going to be a thrilling ride!
