Spain are champions of Europe for the fourth time in their history, after winning their first in 1964, before winning it again in 2008, 2012 and now in 2024. The Spaniards finished this year’s competition winning all seven matches, beating host country Germany at the quarter finals, then knocking out France 2:1 in the semi finals and finally winning the competition 2:1 against a timid England side.

Spain opened score in the 47th minute from a Yamal’s specular drive down the right corner before cutting inside the penalty box and finally finding space. He then curls it into an unmarked Williams on the far side of the box, and he slots it into the far corner, with Pickford unable to reach it.
The Spaniards were in control of most parts of the game, calming down the tempo at the midfield, but yet were surprised as late substitute Cole Palmer netted from outside the box with a slight deflection, slotting pass goal keeper Unai Simone at the 73rd minute, only three minutes coming off from the bench. England were close to carrying on to extra time but Real Sociedad’s forward Mikel Oyarzábal struck the winner at four minutes to regular time to hand the Spanish side their fourth Euro trophy in their own history.
