The Mbappe Leppe and Bonamoussadi stadium is set to host day 4 games of the MTN Elite One title playoffs this Friday and Saturday, April 5th amd 6th.
Gazelle FA of Garoua’s hopes keep sinking after going winless in three games, though with just a point as they will now lock horns with brother club and Defending Champions Cotonsport of Garoua in the first game programmed this Friday.
Unlike Gazelle, the Cotonites are yet to be beaten so far, having recorded two wins and a draw to stay second on the classification table with 7 points, two away from leaders Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda.
To keep their hopes alive, it has to be a must win game for the Academicians of Garoua who are in this stage of the competition for the second consecutive time after finishing 4th last season.
The surprise pullers in the ongoing playoffs, YOSA will face Stade Renard of Melong who though is yet to register a defeat, has not won any of their three games. YOSA currently leads the classification table with 9 points, while Stade Renard has 3points, thus will be hoping to get the surprise result when they face a resilient and very competitive side from the Northwest region, whose captain Nchindo John Bosco is the leading scorer at the title playoffs with 5 goals out of 6 the club has scored so far.
Dynamo of Douala just like their day four opponent Canon, are in dire need of a win to keep their hopes of reaching the top alive.
They both have a point each after two defeats. Canon who finished third last season and runners up in Pool A to reach the playoffs, is one of the teams with the poorest performances so far in the playoffs, most shockingly Dynamo who found themselves in this stage as leaders of Pool A in the regular season. Coincidentally, almost all the teams representing the said group have been the least performers in the title playoffs as Colombe of the Dja and Lobo who will go against 3rd place Victoria United FC of Limbe, has won just one of their three games, recording one draw and a defeat. However, they are the best contenders as it stand amongst the four teams from Pool A which included Dynamo, Gazelle and Canon.
