A worthy untamable Lion has gone. President Issa Hayatou bowed in Paris this morning. With class, sobriety and elegance that characterized him.
Evoking the memory of this African football monument, imposes on us out of respect for him, a duty of sincerity.
Beyond everything, we have always cared for the former president of CAF, FECAFOOT, and FIFA (interim): Issa Hayatou, HUGE RESPECT.
So we salute, the memory of the builder of the modern CAF, of a great African who allowed Africa, after the feat of the Indomitable Lions in 1990, to get 5 places at the Football World Cup. President Issa Hayatou has always known, through his leadership, his commitment, and his sense of compromise, to defend the voice of Africa. We owe him a lot.
He leaves us an immeasurable legacy. A solid foundation to build African football that is better represented internationally, and respected for its fair values and contributions.
Indomitable Lion Issa Hayatou has come his way.
Here’s to our generation to face its own challenges and move on.
