It was unarguably a satisfactory weekend for some Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at club, particularly Andre Onana, Faris Pi Moumbagna, Bryan Mbeumo, Jean Onana, contributing to their clubs triumph in their various competitions.
Cameroon and Manchester United’s Number one shot stopper put up an impressive performance in the FA cup semi final clash against Conventry this Sunday, to help United miraculously grab a ticket to the grand Finale of the competition.
Despite conceding three goals in regular time that saw the game tie 3-3 taking it to post match penalties, the 27-year old made a crucial penalty save, stopping Callum O’Hare’s shot as his side secured a 4-2 win to set up a final date with rivals, Manchester City.
With Manchester United making it to the FA cup finals, Andre Onana has now played the finals of a tournament in each club he’s played in; the Dutch cup where he won with Ajax Amsterdam,
Italian cup winner with Inter Milan and now the FA Cup pending final results.
Cameroonian forward, Faris Pemi Moumbagna was on target for the second time in a row.
Just a few days after helping Marseille reach the Europa League semi final, the 24-year old international scored again in Marseille’s 2-2 draw against Toulouse this Sunday, April 21.
It was equally Cameroonian midfielder, Junior Jean Onana who scored the other goal for OM, a game indomitable Lions new head coach Marc Brys, watched from the stands
Coming off from a long injury that caused him miss the 2023 AFCON, Bryan Mbeumo played his first 90 minutes for Brentford, delivering two assists as the club whitewashed Luton 5 goals to one, thus making it a goal and two assist in 5 games since he returned to the pitch.
21-year old Hugo Ekitike opened his goal count with Frankfurt in their 3-1 win over Ausberg in Matchday 30 of the German Bundesliga, with compatriot Ebimbe Dina providing an assist.
Eric Maxim Choupo Moting who started his first game for Bayern Munich in a while, provided an assist in Bayern’s 5-1 win over Union Berlin in the German Bundesliga.
Cameroonian Left back, Nouhou Tolo, Olivier Ntcham are equally amongst the Indomitable Lions who were quite exceptional at club over weekend.
The improvement from these players could be favourable to secure their places in the national team, as new Belgian coach Marc is on a scoring tour to put together a team that will be fit to man up Cape Verde and Angola in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
