USM of Loum have unofficially been relegated from the MTN Elite One Football championship in Cameroon after exactly ten years following their promotion to the first division.
A 3-2 loss in the hands of already relegated Avion Academy of Douala in a game which they led twice and lost a penalty.
Their relegation ends a ten-year stay in the Cameroon Elite one, in which they won three trophies; two league titles(2016,2018) and one Cameroon cup trophy in 2015.
The painful Matchday 10 results of the MTN elite one relegation playoffs down, marked the end of the Moungo side’s applaudable strives in the top tier championship over the years, having won the MTN Elite One championship in just their second season (2016), a year after winning the Cup of Cameroon, champions of the 2018 season and runners-up of the national challenge Cup in 2017.
Fovu club of Baham, Avion and UMS of Loum are the first 3 of five clubs to be relegated to Elite two next season. The last day of play will determine the other two to join them between Bamboutos FC of Mbouda, Aigle Royal of the Menoua, Apejes of Mfou and Les Astres of Douala.
