The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon is at a crucial Stage.A moment where things are falling apart for the church and the integrity of the church questionable .
From internal conflicts within the Synod to Pastor’s insulting Christians and vice versa,there is confusion in the body of Christ.The one time much respected PCC today looks like a political party with hatred, backing, witch-hunting and lies telling being the order of the day.
The outgoing Moderator of PCC Rt.Rev.Fonki Samuel Forba,has been at the center of several controversies reason why he himself during the 47th PC day recently begged for forgiveness from Christians after admitting that his 10 years leadership spell has been marked by administrative errors.Rev.Samuel have been accused on several occasions by christians of diverting church funds for private use and several mismanagement in the PCC.
In a public outing Moderator emiratus Rt.Rev Dr.Festus Asana lamented at the current state of the PCC saying that Pastors were now loyal to the Moderator and not to Jesus,the foundation and leader of the church.The cleric Sternly frowned at the Church’s management and called for the leaders to repent.
The PCC with close to 2 million christians in Cameroon has shifted it Godliness mission towards unforgiveness and non reconciliation altitude amongst the highracy of the church .This has pitted Christians in camps against each other.
However,as the PCC holds it election this day 16 November 2024 in Buea ,the over 150 eligible voters must elect a moderator and a Synod clerk who will rebrand the image of the church and reconcile the church to God.For it is written in Mathew 16 vs 18″I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail”.
