Day three of Professor Fuh Calistus Gentry’s four day working visit to the Littoral Region saw the Minister of Mines, Industry, and Technological Development take drastic measures against Reddys Global Industries Ltd in Bonaberi Douala. The company’s activities were suspended due to non-compliance with industrial practices, posing a significant risk to public health.

Professor Gentry explained that the decision was made after repeated attempts to guide the company on basic industrial practices. “We have a whole technical file with them, which they are aware of. Unfortunately, they have failed to respect these guidelines, putting the health of Cameroonians at risk,” he stated.

The minister’s message was clear: all companies operating in the sector have two months to conform to industrial practices. “The regional delegate is preparing a timeline, and we have given them two more months. If companies do not prioritize the health and well-being of Cameroonians, they will face shutdown,” he warned.
This move serves as a warning to other companies in the sector. Professor Gentry emphasized that the government will not tolerate any company that puts the health of Cameroonians at risk. “The products of Ready Global are no longer tolerated on the Cameroonian market, effective immediately,” he declared.

As the minister continues his four-day working visit to the Littoral Region, his focus on promoting a safe and healthy environment for Cameroonians remains unwavering. The suspension of Reddys Global Industries Ltd serves as proof to the government’s commitment to upholding industrial practices that prioritize public health.
In related news, Professor Gentry’s visit to the Littoral Region is part of a broader effort to densify Cameroon’s industrial fabric. The minister has been working to promote import substitution, encourage local entrepreneurship, and attract foreign investment.
