The days following the October 12, 2025 presidential elections have left our beloved nation tense and divided. Once again, our collective peace and unity are being tested.
As citizens of one nation, we must remember that no political ambition is worth the tears of another Cameroonian. We do not want our country to bleed. We do not want that which was once celebrated as “Africa in Miniature” to become a source of sorrow and regret before the world.
What Cameroon needs now is responsible and responsive leadership – leadership that listens, analyses, and understands the grievances that have emerged from polling stations. We call on all concerned bodies to ask the right and necessary questions:
- Did we stand up to the call of fairness and transparency?
- What were the causes and responsibilities behind the irregularities and tensions observed?
- How do we rebuild public trust and credibility in our institutions?
We urge all citizens, political actors, and security forces to refrain from violence, provocation, and destruction. Violence only deepens wounds and divides communities; it never delivers justice.
Above all, we call for dialogue between the various aggrieved parties – a space for truth, understanding, and reconciliation. Only through dialogue can we restore confidence, heal our divisions, and move forward as one nation.
Let it be known that no one loves this country more than the other. We are all sons and daughters of Cameroon – bound by a shared destiny and a collective duty to protect our homeland.
Let history remember that in the face of anger, we chose peace.
Let the world see that from the heart of Africa, Cameroon still stands for unity, wisdom, and hope.
