The Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) in Nkambe Central Subdivision, Donga-Mantung Division of the North West Region, has officially launched its campaign for the October 12, 2025 presidential election. The campaign kickoff took place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Nkambe town, with party members, supporters, and traditional authorities in attendance.
The event was chaired by Musa Shey Nfor, Mayor of Nkambe and Deputy CPDM Campaign Manager for the subdivision. In his address, the Mayor underscored the importance of peace and stability in the upcoming election, stressing that only President Paul Biya—the CPDM’s candidate—could guarantee lasting peace in Nkambe and the wider Donga-Mantung Division.
“Only President Paul Biya, candidate of the CPDM, can guarantee lasting peace in Nkambe and Donga-Mantung Division, without which development is not possible. The person you choose as the next President of Cameroon will be President to all—political parties, people who don’t play politics, traditional rulers, both the young and old. Such a leader must be father to all. And the person best suited for the position is none other but Paul Biya!” Musa Shey told party members.

The Mayor highlighted development strides achieved under the Biya regime, citing the long-awaited tarring of the Ring Road through Nkambe and the creation and construction of the Regional Hospital Annex in Nkambe. He described the Head of State as a leader who “promises and fulfills.”
Yet, Musa Shey emphasized that the people of Donga-Mantung Division still have expectations. He called on the Head of State to consider the creation of a new administrative region, the reinstallation of solar street lights in Nkambe after completion of the Ring Road project, and the construction of more schools to meet the demands of the growing population.
Using a powerful metaphor, Musa Shey compared President Biya to a “fruiting tree.”
“Paul Biya is like a fruiting tree. If you are blessed with such a tree, it will be useless abandoning it for a barren tree. This is the more reason why Nkambe Central Subdivision needs to give President Biya another mandate to bring to conclusion the projects he has begun,” he said.

The campaign launch drew a large turnout of CPDM faithful, traditional rulers, and sympathizers, signaling the ruling party’s determination to secure votes in a region often described as strategic in the electoral map of Cameroon.
As the countdown to the October 12 polls continues, the CPDM’s message in Nkambe is clear: peace, continuity, and development under Paul Biya remain the strongest arguments for another mandate.
