Thousands of denizens in the Northwest Region have benefited from a huge consignment of some 500 bags of rice, 500 blankets and a month long offer of free fuel to bike riders.
The consignment, which is said to be from the benevolence of the Presidential couple – Paul Biya and Madam Chantal – was donated on Friday October 3 2025,in Bamenda by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Biya’s Special envoy to the NW Region, Paul Atanga Nji.

The donations, we learned is meant to benefit the most-in-need from all the 34 Sub divisions of the Region.
Besides, a total of 500 bike riders shall benfit from a one-month long free
allocation of free fuel. This shall help assuage the difficulties that they have been going through, all this while.
Meantime, a consignment of 500 bags of rice and an equal number of blankets shall be shared out to the most needy ones across the Region as well.
It’s worth noting that Minister Atanga Nji, for the past few weeks, has been on a nationwide tour to ascertain the readiness of all the ten Regions in view of the October 12 Presidential Election.
His mission is to ensure that the election comes and go in total serenity.
Thus, after his visits to the East, Center, SW, Littoral and the West, Minister Atanga Nji was in the Northwest, as his next port of call.
ENSURING FOOD SECURITY PARAMOUNT!

From all indications, Minister Atanga Nji, didn’t just come to the NW to talk about the security of persons during this time of elections. But, by offering the population what it takes to ensure food security – 500 bags of rice, Atanga Nji made sure that the lives of the people of Bamenda, during this election period, will be doubly secured!
SHALL THE NW EQUALLY SECURE BIYA’s WIN!

Minister Atanga Nji used the occasion to equally implore the recipients to not only jump, dance and hail President Biya for the offer. He urged them to do the needful on October 12 – GIVE Biya a 100% win across the Region.
WARM RECEPTION!

Minister Atanga Nji and his Delegation was received in the Region by the Governor – Lele L’Afrique, the SDO of Mezam Division – Simon Emile Mooh, the City Mayor of the Bamenda City Council, Achobong Tambeng Paul, among many other administrative and elected officials.
The food and material aid donations which took place within the City Council premises ended on a note of satisfaction.
The thousands of the beneficiary population could be seen beaming with happiness and relief, especially, coming from the stressful past they have had to put through – the painful lockdowns!
Many sang songs to show their gratitude to the Head of State. But the real thank-you songs to the Head of State, Paul Biya, are certainly being awaited at the ballot box on Sunday, October 12th!
