The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, has embarked on a three-day working visit to the South West Region, beginning with a landmark stop in Limbe, Fako Division on Tuesday October 7, 2025.

The visit comes just hours after the Prime Minister saw off President Paul Biya at the Nsimalen International Airport as the Head of State departed for his campaign rally in Maroua, Far North Region. Upon arrival in Limbe, Dr. Ngute was received with warmth and enthusiasm by the South West Regional Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai, alongside local administrative, traditional, and political authorities.

Salary Arrears for CDC Workers Paid

A major highlight of the Prime Minister’s first day was the official launch of the payment of salary arrears for employees of the Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC).
At a ceremony held in Limbe on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Dr. Ngute declared that workers of the agro-industrial giant, who have long endured financial hardship due to unpaid wages, would finally receive what is due to them.
Starting Wednesday, October 8, 2025, CDC workers will be able to collect their arrears at their usual salary payment centers. The move is expected to significantly ease the burden on families and restore confidence among employees of the corporation, which remains one of the largest employers in the South West Region.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister said the government was determined to ensure social justice for workers and to revitalize the CDC, which has faced years of financial and operational challenges. He reassured the population that the government’s commitment to strengthening the economic backbone of the region was unwavering.
CPDM Mega Rally in Limbe

Later in the day, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute attended a historic mega rally of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) in Limbe. The gathering, described by observers as one of the largest political mobilizations in recent years in Fako Division, saw thousands of party militants and sympathizers turn out in full force.
The Prime Minister’s presence added weight to the event, which was characterized by speeches of unity, solidarity, and renewed support for President Paul Biya’s candidacy in the October 12, 2025, presidential election.

Party officials and grassroots supporters welcomed Dr. Ngute as both a statesman and a son of the soil, hailing his role in promoting peace, development, and reconciliation in the region.
Three Days of Engagement Ahead

Over the next two days, the Prime Minister is expected to continue his working tour across the South West Region, meeting with local communities, inaugurating development projects, and reinforcing the government’s message of national unity and economic revival.
For many in the South West, the launch of CDC salary arrears payment marks the beginning of renewed hope. For the ruling CPDM, the mega rally in Limbe signals the party’s determination to consolidate its support base ahead of next week’s crucial election.
