It was a weekend of unity, generosity, and cultural pride as the Fako Women N’Endinge in America, better known as FAWONE America, successfully concluded its 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 4, 2025, in Pennsylvania.
The three-day event, which drew more than 100 women from across the United States, was not just a reunion of sisters from Cameroon’s Fako Division — it was a celebration of philanthropy in action.
Giving Back to Mothers and Families
At the heart of FAWONE America’s mission lies a simple but powerful goal: to improve the lives of mothers and families in Fako Division, in Cameroon’s South West Region.
This year’s AGM focused on raising funds to support maternal health programs, particularly through health facilities that assist women during childbirth.
“Our mothers risk their lives to give birth, often without the care they deserve,” one of the exco member said. “We believe every woman should have access to safe and dignified healthcare.”

The women’s compassion has already translated into concrete action — funding medical support initiatives and ensuring that expectant mothers in rural communities receive attention and supplies during delivery.
Education and Empowerment
Beyond maternal health, the meeting also reviewed FAWONE’s ongoing scholarship program, which currently supports four students in Cameroon. The initiative aims to give bright but underprivileged youths a chance to achieve their dreams through education.
The association’s leader Iya Impelda Namondo Mbwaye reaffirmed its commitment to expanding this support, stressing that education remains key to long-term community development.
Unity, Culture, and Compassion

The 2025 AGM wasn’t just about business. It was also a vibrant showcase of culture and sisterhood. The first day featured a group tour and meet-and-greet, setting the stage for the main AGM and fundraising gala on Saturday.
The weekend ended on a joyful note with a Sunday BBQ, where members shared a meal, danced, and reflected on their collective achievements.
The event also drew commendation from the President of Fako America Mola Julius Nammeh, who praised FAWONE’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian service.
“What FAWONE America is doing is remarkable,” he said. “Their compassion continues to transform lives in Fako and inspire the wider Cameroonian diaspora.”
Women Leading with Heart

As FAWONE America’s members return to their respective states, their message remains clear — philanthropy begins with love, and true leadership starts with giving.
Their continued efforts are not only strengthening healthcare and education in Fako but also inspiring a global spirit of community among Cameroonians abroad.
From Pennsylvania to Fako, these women are proving that distance is no barrier to impact — and that when women lead with purpose, entire communities thrive.
