Esther Omam Njomo, is a renowned Cameroonian human rights activist and peacebuilder.
She’s the Executive Director of Reach Out Cameroon, an NGO that promotes women’s and children’s rights in conflict-affected areas and supports women’s participation in peacebuilding processes.Esther has become a household name Cameroon bringing hope to the hopeless.

She has been instrumental in organizing peace initiatives, including the first National Women’s Convention for Peace in Cameroon, which brought together over 1,200 women to demand an end to violence and promote peace. Esther also led delegations of women to pre-dialogue sessions with the Prime Minister, advocating for women’s participation in peace building processes.

Esther’s work focuses on empowering rural women in conflict-affected communities, recognizing their crucial role in peacebuilding. She trains grassroots peacebuilding advocates and community builders, creating a network of women peace mediators.
Esther’s dedication to peacebuilding and women’s empowerment has earned her recognition globally, and her work continues to inspire and support communities in Cameroon and beyond.

Reach Out Cameroon, under Esther’s leadership, has served over 500,000 displaced persons and individuals in need since the Anglophone crisis began in 2016.In 2024 alone her organisation reach out to some 2.8 million people in need .
Esther has won numerous international peacebuilding awards, including the 2023 Global Centre for Pluralism Award and the 2023 German Africa Prize. She was also a finalist for the 2021 Women Building Peace Award and received the Africa Women’s Award in 2024 for her contributions to peacebuilding.
And recently won the 2025 National Leadership Award.
Esther Omam Njomo remains a virtuous woman who continues to impact lives.
