Boris Enow Takang, born on March 30, 2000, in Cameroon, is making waves in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a new addition to DC United’s midfield. Standing 1.75 meters (5 ft 9 in) tall, Enow brings a blend of youth and experience to the team, having previously played for clubs in Portugal, France, and Israel.
Enow’s football journey began with Ecole de Football Brasseries du Cameroun, where he honed his skills before moving to FC Porto’s reserve team in 2018. During his time with Porto B, Enow made 14 appearances and scored once. His next stop was RC Lens B, where he had 8 appearances.
In 2021, Enow joined Maccabi Netanya in the Israeli top-flight league. Over three seasons with Netanya, he accumulated 93 appearances and scored 3 goals. His performances in the Liga Leumit showcased his capabilities as a reliable midfielder, contributing to both defense and attack.
Over his 130 professional appearances, he has notched up six goals and provided four assists. He is noted for offensive capabilities and playmaking skills.
DC United’s acquisition of Enow is part of a broader strategy to strengthen their squad for the season. The club have already bolstered their lineup with two other summer signings: left back David Schnegg and forward Dom Badji.
His international experience includes a brief stint with the Cameroon U20 team in 2018. At 24, he is now ready to take on new challenges with DC United, having signed a contract that runs through 2027 with an option for an additional year. Enow will wear the number 5 shirt and aims to make a significant impact in the MLS.
