“Open Letter To Mimi Mefo Info On ‘Major General The Only Bro’
A Word of Caution and Clarity on Editorial Responsibility
Dear Mimi Mefo Info Team,
Your platform has published extensively on this matter, and it’s important to reiterate a few key points. As a media outlet, your primary role is to report news, analyze events objectively, and avoid becoming an actor in the ongoing political struggle.
You are not an activist platform, and it is not your responsibility to take on the work of the CPDM regime or President Biya. Leave that to government-aligned surrogates such as the MCPD.
I urge you to refrain from any actions that could be perceived as sabotaging or sowing division among Ambazonian fighters or leadership. Your influence as a media house carries weight, and with that comes responsibility. There can be consequences when journalistic integrity is compromised for political interference.
Stay focused on truthful, impartial reporting—that is the strength and purpose of your platform.
Sincerely,
Mark Bareta

“Dear Mr. Mark Bara,
Thank you for taking the time to engage with our recent coverage and for sharing your thoughts on the role of the media in the current conflict.
At Mimi Mefo Info, our mandate has always been clear. We strive to report the truth, amplify the voices of the voiceless, and hold all actors — state and non-state — accountable. Our recent investigation into the conduct and contradictions of Ngeh Cyprian, aka “The Only Bro,” is consistent with that mission.
When we reported a few days ago, calling the Cameroonian authorities to account over cases of possible extrajudicial killings in Bamenda, why did you not raise objections?
We are aware that our reporting may discomfort some within the separatist movement, just as it has ruffled feathers within government circles in the past and continues to do so. But our commitment is not to political convenience. It is to facts, verified evidence, and the safety and dignity of civilians, who remain the primary victims of this drawn-out conflict.
The presence of President Paul Biya’s portrait in the home of a self-declared separatist “General” is a fact. The implications, as we clearly stated, are open to interpretation. We believe the people — including those who support or sympathize with the Ambazonian struggle — deserve transparency and the opportunity to ask hard questions of those who claim to fight on their behalf.
For an Ambazonia fighter who has been involved in a string of civilian killings and kidnappings, which we have documented since June 2024, we cannot turn a blind eye to the image of Biya in his house.
Our media is not aligned with the CPDM, MCPD, or any political entity. And we categorically reject any suggestion that exposing contradictions or abuses within the separatist camp is equivalent to sabotage. If we are to report truthfully, then no side is above scrutiny.
True movements rooted in justice and liberation must welcome accountability, not fear it.
We remain committed to fearless, impartial journalism.
Sincerely,
MMI Editorial Team.”
